Last year SPARC celebrated its three year anniversary of serving members in the San Francisco community. We seek to be a voice for the implementation of best practices in providing medical cannabis to qualified members. We are fully licensed by the City and County of San Francisco and compliant with all local and state regulations.

JOB TITLE: Production Associate I - Assembly
Non-exempt:Non-exempt; Full Time
COMPENSATION: $15/Hour; after 90 days full-time includes full health benefits, dental, vision, life and long-term disability coverage, and paid sick time accrual.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Production Leads and other department managers.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: THOUGH THIS ASSOCIATE MAY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF THE DUTIES LISTED BELOW, THIS PERSON WILL PRIMARILY WORK IN OUR ASSEMBLY DEPARTMENT.
The Production Associate is responsible for everything from gardening, harvesting and trimming cannabis, to assembling pre-weighed medicine for the dispensary, labeling product packaging and manufacturing pre-rolls. Though most Production Associates will primarily work in one of these areas of the production process, they will be responsible for various tasks at different times. THIS PARTICULAR POSITION WILL HAVE AN EMPHASIS ON ASSEMBLY.
Cultivation related responsibilities include the harvesting and trimming of all plants; actively participating and coordinating in cultivation, which includes crop production and harvest plans for indoor, outdoor and greenhouse facilities; assisting with nutrient, irrigation, pest control, harvest and other crop specific production practices, all while maintaining a safe work environment. Work may also include proper manicuring of product while ensuring the quality of finished product meets expected standards, and the Associate is also responsible for continuing education on new cultivation and product finishing standards.
Assembly related responsibilities include the assembling all pre-weighed medicine for the dispensary, including flowers, concentrates and edibles; tracking and weighing of all medicine in active loose stock; and manufacturing pre-rolls.
All Production Associates must understand and embrace the mission of SPARC and its role in the community.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
1. Inspect product for mold, fungus, disease, bugs or other abnormalities and report to manager.
2. Participate and follow inventory forecast and control practices and assist with inventory audits/reconciliation for all inventory and materials to include, supplies, plants, process product, equipment, etc.
3. Responsible and accountable for tight quality control through every phase of production.
4. Frequently maintain cleanliness and sanitization of all work areas, including nurseries and storage areas.
5. Store and transport product in designated areas.
6. Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following OSHA regulations, organization standards and legal regulations.
7. Maintain a positive work environment conducive to trust and respect.
8. Maintain strictest confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and general policy.
9. Perform other related work as required.
Cultivation related duties:
10. Maintain set quality control on plants/product and assist with immature plant propagation.
11. Assist with execution of production and harvest plans to include drying and curing activity specific to harvest.
12. Ensure proper care of product through trimming, curing, packaging, watering, feeding, monitoring environment, etc., as needed.
13. Assist with and follow crop production plan to include an integrated pest management system (IPM).
14. Consistently trim product to standard.
15. Develop proficiency and follow safety practices with the operation of equipment, fertigation systems, environmental controls, water distribution system, security system, etc., which includes performing preventative maintenance tasks, troubleshooting malfunctions and assisting with repairs.
16. Ongoing education on medicine and proper cultivating standards.
Assembly related duties:
17. Complete daily tasks from a project list.
18. Fulfill orders as defined by Bulk Processing Sheets (BPS) and labels.
19. Assemble pre-weighed medicine for the dispensary, including flowers, concentrates and edibles.
20. Verify weights of all assemblies are accurate within predefined variance.
21. Label containers and assemble packaging with sticker and bar code labels.
22. Manufacture pre-rolls, which includes grinding, filling packaging and labeling of units, and maintain appropriate stock levels of the pre-rolls.
23. Clean and sanitize weigh station area multiple times a day.

2. Knowledge of cannabis strains and genetics, growing practices and the medicinal effects of Cannabis.

15. Maintain a current medical Cannabis physician recommendation and/or a CA Medical Cannabis Identification Card issued by the DHS at all times.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One year or more experience preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be 18 years old and pass criminal background check.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work may require prolonged sitting/standing, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate farm/garden equipment, a computer, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing. Requires close vision with the ability to see color and adjust focus. Requires lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds, and using assistance (multiple people, forklift, dolly) when lifting/moving over 100 pounds.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a busy medical Cannabis nursery facility and/or operations/finishing area. The outdoor/indoor and greenhouse facility areas are very loud due to fans and filtration systems, fluctuating between extreme cold and hot temperatures. Will be exposed to the normal chemicals found in a crop production facility (i.e. fertilizers). Work may be stressful at times and may include dealing with difficult people and/or law enforcement. Available to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or events.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Inventory Clerk is responsible for accurately ensuring all packaged inventory is properly assembled, counted, stored and audited, and, if stationed at the dispensary, displayed on the sales floor and online menus.
Understand and embrace the mission of SPARC, affiliate organization(s), and their role in the industry and local and greater communities.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Department Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
1. Responsible for the execution of all retail inventory functions.
2. Work interdepartmentally to monitor inventory levels and make purchasing and reordering recommendations.
3. Work with staff to organize product storage on our sales floor and/or production facility; prepare medicine for delivery between facilities.
4. Perform audits ensuring accuracy of medicine on-site.
5. Restock retail floor periodically throughout the day.
6. Audit all purchase orders and receiving vouchers placed for accuracy.
7. Responsible for inventory transactions such as issues and receipts and for recording product configuration.
8. Reconciliation of incoming and outgoing inventory records.
9. Create, edit, streamline, and remove any and all items in Point of Sale system.
10. Regularly partner with management to analyze item forecasts and trends, making recommendations for changes based on usage analysis.
11. Maintain a positive work environment conducive to trust and respect.
12. Immediately update menu as soon as items become and/or are no longer available.
13. Conduct daily physical inventory counts for packaged goods on the sales floor and within secured storage.
14. Create monthly sales forecasts. Communicate with Inventory Manager to clarify if demands are higher than current trends.
15. Perform other related work as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Must possess a minimum of two years of college coursework. College degree in Business or related field preferred. One or more years of purchasing or product planning experience preferred.
